my new favorite lappy

Steve Jobs says netbooks are just slow, cheaper laptops with low-quality displays and are no good for anything. He dissed them as such during the unveiling of the iPad and judging by falling sales, since then, he may have a case. Except that the new macbook air had launched, just become my new favorite laptop.

It costs $999 so its not cheap but on the other hand, i works for me as a small screen laptop with a long battery life and its just easy to carry around compared to my old macbook first generation.
The design is a thing of beauty and the weight at 2.3 pounds is trifling. I had trouble finding the thin sliver of aluminium in my bag this morning among all my papers. I also like the way the slim power cord attaches magnetically to the edge of the Air.

A PC person would also question the value for money here. I think the quality of the screen, the solid state drive, the included iLife software and the overall build quality of the aluminium casing justifies the price. It is also a third less than the previous lowest priced MacBook Air and is now the same price as the basic macbook, so in Apple’s terms, this is one cheap netbook!
